TUVALU

a drowning nation
Tuvalu's nine coral atolls are home to
10 500 people. Firmly connected to
family, culture and land.Until recently
the richness of the soil and sea has
provided a self-sufficient lifestyle for
the families who share it.

But with an average elevation less than
two meters above sealevel, this is a
delicate environment. The accelerating
effects of sealevel-rise are threatening
the traditional ways of life.
